If you follow Tree of Life's facebook page, you may have noticed some slight changes taking place. First, the profile picture changed to a rather clever "teaser" announcing that we are expecting a new addition on July 1st. Then, our business name changed from Tree of Life Doula Services to Tree of Life Birth and Beyond. Now, the updated website is published and Tree of Life Birth and Beyond has LAUNCHED!

A partnership is BORN!

I, Rachel Ivison, and extremely happy to announce and introduce everyone to Hillary Foster! Many of our community members know Hillary already, she isn't new to the doula world. She's actually been doing this longer than myself! And now, we have joined forces to bring the Antelope Valley it's ONLY doula partnership. Hillary is also a postpartum doula, so she is bringing even more continuity of care to our clients. She has two gorgeous children who my kids adore. We both work at the Women and Infants Pavilion together in the Education and Breastfeeding Center and she created an amazing pregnancy support group in both the Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita.

We have worked very hard to come to this point and will continue to keep the positive and forward moving momentum to set the standard of professional doula care in the Antelope Valley.

So how does a partnership work??

In a nut shell, our clients will meet with both of us prenatally, where we each have an opportunity to establish a unique relationship with one another. We share an on-call schedule each month, alternating the days we are on-call and the days we are off-call. This is huge for us. This means one of us can leave town for a spontaneous weekend away with the family, and rest assured that our clients are still in great hands! Our clients will be at ease during these times knowing that one of the doulas they hired will be at their delivery.

Benefits of a doula partnership

  • Clients receive the knowledge and perspective of two experienced and professional doulas
  • We show up to your birth well rested, ready to support you with the energy and encouragement you need
  • If your labor is very long, one doula can come to relieve members of the team
  • While one doula is with you during labor, the other is just a phone call or text away. In this sense, you have the support of two doulas, one physically with you, and one offering encouragement and advice over the phone
  • As stated above, you have developed a relationship with  each doula, so you can rest assured that you'll have a doula you know and trust by your side
  • We each bring something special to the table! Hillary is also a postpartum doula, while Rachel offers placenta encapsulation and childbirth classes
We are so thrilled about this collaboration and look forward to serving families in the Antelope Valley, California and surrounding areas TOGETHER. We would LOVE it if you would join us in celebration of this venture at our Launch Party on July 18th, 2015. Details are bellow, on Facebook, and Eventbrite.

Come party with us!
